If it did work, it would only be a temporary fix. The proper way to clean white haze caused by wax is by cleaning it with either our CarGuys Super Cleaner, an IPA solution, or, if there are just a few spots, the best way to quickly remove the white residue is simply with a pencil eraser. It sounds weird, but this is a great tip we learned while working with professional detailers.
