I have a new car, do I still need to strip it before applying wax?

It's still best to use the dawn to completely strip off any previous products. Even though it is new, dealerships sometimes always apply some type of wax on the vehicle to make it look nice on the lot.

Also, just rinsing with water may cause scratches on your vehicle as there is no lubrication when going to wipe down the surfaces.
