Liquid Wax is totally safe to use on paint, glass, metals, chrome, decals, headlights, and taillights, but we recommend completely avoid using plastic and rubber.
The only type of plastics that are safe are 'shiny/glossy' painted plastic parts. It's the unfinished, raw, usually black or grey colored rubber/plastic such as window trim and plastic bumpers that sometimes have issues.
To avoid these areas in the future, we suggest applying 1-2" away. If you notice some accidental application, simply wipe it off before it dries.
Just wondering, how big is the affected area? If there are just a few spots the best and cheapest way to quickly remove the white residue is simply with a pencil eraser. It sounds weird but this is a great tip we learned while working with professional detailers.
I found a great video on youtube showing how it's done. You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-nXWVHjGCE
After you remove the white residue, you can finish with our Plastic Restorer to seal and rejuvenate the trim.
